Architectural Studio
TONIC.INC is a design studio built on one idea: that inconsistency is beauty. Instead of polishing every facet to a smooth finish, we work with the original state of things. Every site, every material, every brief carries its own character — we build from that. The result is architecture with integrity. Honest to its form. Open to becoming.
TONIC.INC operates as a design laboratory grounded in the Tectonics of Inconsistency. Our practice experiments with the novel poetics of assembly — purposefully curating a synthesis of unmediated discord into a new, coherent whole, rather than dissolving irregularities for the sake of convenient composition.
We embrace the full ensemble of uncertainty inherent in site, program, and materiality — treating inconformity as incentive rather than obstacle. Through virtuosic orchestration and parametric calibration, divergent elements are configured until they resonate: dissonant in origin, purposeful and precise in coexistence.
This process yields the TONIC — a distilled, potent intervention that activates both inhabitant and environment. Five foundational INC agents form the core of our methodology — refined across a decade of practice, they mediate between client intent, design ambition, and the public realm.
TONIC.INC was founded on a conviction: to find a way of assembling things without smoothing every edge. We preserve the characteristic uniqueness of each collaborator — and actively draw in other disciplines to generate more facets within our design. The studio operates as a focused laboratory: lean by intention, precise by necessity.
Our works are the practical cases for the five INC agents — divergence, dissonance, assemblage, becoming, and activation operating simultaneously across scale, program, and material. We deploy them as a system to resolve and activate the latent potential within each brief.
From residential interventions to speculative urban proposals, our portfolio spans scales and typologies — but every outcome carries the same ideology: inconsistency, orchestrated into coherence.

Our services span the full arc of architectural production — from design research and proposal to built delivery. Each project is calibrated with the ambition to deliver a unique outcome, formulated through client requirements, context, and design agenda.
Tectonics of Inconsistency
The computational integration of art and architectural practice constitutes a critical site of inquiry — where formally disparate systems converge not incidentally but methodologically. Through empirical investigation and experimental abstraction, this framework positions inconsistency as a generative epistemological condition from which design research may proceed.
Our research operates at the intersection of computational theory and architectural practice — interrogating the formal, material, and epistemological conditions that define contemporary design.
We produce writing, tools, and visual work that exists simultaneously as scholarship and as practice. Research at TTN is not a separate discipline — it is the medium through which design thinking becomes transmissible.
Each inquiry is framed as an open methodology rather than a closed argument, proposing tectonics not merely as material expression but as an epistemological framework for knowing through making.
The role of the Technical Artist sits at the intersection of computational research and creative production — translating algorithmic logic into visual form that communicates ideas beyond the technical domain.
This practice involves building custom tools, authoring visual systems, and developing workflows that bridge rigorous computational thinking with architectural and artistic sensibility. The technical artist does not choose between precision and expression — they demand both simultaneously.
At TTN, the technical artist operates as researcher, maker, and communicator — producing work that exists equally as methodology and as image.
Our services operate at the boundary between research and production — each engagement calibrated to the specific computational, creative, and scholarly needs of the collaborator. We do not offer standardised packages. We offer precision.
TTN works with academic institutions, independent studios, cultural organisations, and design teams who require both rigorous computational thinking and a distinct aesthetic sensibility.
Experimental Studio
TONIC.LAB is where computational design gets real. We break down Rhino & Grasshopper into tutorials that actually make sense — across three tracks: Let's Model, Classes, and Workflow. Starting out or levelling up, this is your space to learn, experiment, and build.
Adaptive mesh tessellation driven by attractor curves. Export-ready for CNC and 3D printing.

Iterative subdivision of NURBS surfaces with parameterised depth control and visual feedback.

Modular column generator with profile morphing, fluting logic, and structural integration checks.

Multi-point attractor fields driving panel size, orientation, and material density across surfaces.
Kangaroo-based structural form-finding with real-time load visualisation and export to analysis.
